We fit dentures using two main materials — acrylic and Cobalt Chrome.
Acrylic dentures are used for both full sets and partial plates. They suit most patients well and are the standard starting point for anyone who has lost most or all of their teeth.
Cobalt Chrome is used for partial dentures. The metal framework is thinner and stronger than acrylic, sits more comfortably in the mouth, and typically lasts longer. For patients who still have a healthy natural dentition and need a partial plate, Cobalt Chrome is often the better long-term choice.
All dentures are custom-made onshore in Melbourne. We take precise impressions and work through a fitting process to get the shape, bite, and appearance right before the final piece is fabricated. Shade matching and tooth shape are selected individually so the result looks natural.

What to expect at your visit
The process takes several appointments. We start with impressions and jaw measurements, then move through trial fittings to check the bite and appearance before the final denture is fabricated. Minor adjustments in the first few weeks are normal — most patients need a few small tweaks as they adapt. We see you through that process until the fit is right.
Costs and payment plans
Removable dentures range from $1,500 to $5,500 depending on the material, whether it is a partial or full set, and the complexity of your case. Private health funds with major dental cover typically contribute toward the cost. Interest-free payment plans are available. All fees are confirmed in writing before treatment begins. We process health fund claims on the spot via HICAPS.

Custom shade matching and individual tooth shape selection means the result looks like natural teeth — not a uniform row of identical whites. Made and fitted properly, most people won’t be able to tell.

Acrylic dentures typically last five to eight years. Cobalt Chrome partial dentures last longer due to the strength of the framework. Over time, as the jaw bone gradually changes shape, any denture will need relining or eventually replacing. Regular check-ups help us pick up when that’s needed before the fit becomes uncomfortable.
Most patients adapt within a few weeks. We recommend starting with softer foods while you adjust. Very hard or sticky foods will always be more challenging with a removable denture. If long-term stability is a concern, implant-retained dentures are worth discussing — they offer a significantly more secure fit.
